Best-bets for April 30: wild night for Max & Sherlock

1) “Wild Cards” season-finale,” 8 p.m,, CW. This show often has a bright, bouncy feel, but now it’s time to get serious: Ellis learns who was responsible for his brother’s death — and who is protecting the killer. 2) “Sherlock & Daughter,” 9 p.m., CW. In the first two episodes of this solidly made series, Amelia figured out the scheme: The ambassador’s daughter faked her kidnapping, to run off with a worker … who turned out to be a scoundrel. Amelia has only told Holmes (her maybe-father) – who now confronts the steel-willed Moriarty (Dougray Scott).

3) The Masked Singer,” 8 p.m., Fox. The final four perform. Two will promptly advance to next week’s finals; the others have a face-off for the last spot. That’s followed by new, transplanted episodes of the animated shows “Krapopolis” and “Grimsburg,” at 9:02 and 9:31 p.m.

4) “Jeopardy Masters” opener, 9 p.m., ABC. The third annual tournament includes Victoria Grace (the current champion) and others – including Brad Rutter’s first “Jeopardy” visit in five years. In 2020, he was in the “Greatest Of All Time” tourney; the winner, Ken Jennings, now hosts.

5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., ABC’s “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” opens its season with Tiffany Haddish, Matt Walsh and Joe Manganielo. At 9, PBS’ “Nova” has a rare, two-hour edition, as scientists try to determine why Blacks have far more chronic diseases than others. At 10, NBC’s “Chicago P.D.” has Burgess put to the test, as she tries to advance her career.
