1) “Sherlock & Daughter” debut, 9 p.m., CW. A quick-witted American feels she’s Sherlock Holmes’ daughter. He disagrees, but needs her on a case. It’s a smart story that starts (shown here) when she has a quick friendship with a rich girl. Some things are settled next week; others continue for six more weeks. Blu Hunt (“The Originals,” “The New Mutants”), who has Lakota and Apache roots, is impressive alongside David Thewlis.
2) “Abbott Elementary” season-finale, 8:30 p.m., ABC. The fourth season concludes, for a show filled with Emmy glory. The first three years drew 24 nominations (including best comedy series each year) and four wins . Now the fourth concludes with the annual field trip. This time, it’s to the Please Touch Museum, a real spot in Philadelphia.
3) “The Future of Nature” finale, 10 p.m., PBS. Think of this as an early warm-up for Earth Day, next Tuesday. This hour focuses on human efforts, from cities (Los Angeles and in China) to the bogs of Ireland. That follows a “Nature” hour viewing efforts to measure trees’ value and help them thrive.
4) Biblical films, Turner Classic Movies. Here are two epics that were Oscar-nominees for best picture – “Quo Vadis” (1951) at 12:30 p.m. ET and “The Greatest Story Ever Told” (1965) at 8 p.m.. (The latter has Easter weekend showings Friday and Saturday on UPtv.) Also on TCM: “Jesus Christ Superstar” (1973), 11:30 p.m.; “King of Kings” (1961); 1:30 a.m.
5) Basketball, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN. The second night of “play-in” games. has the Bulls and Heat, which are No. 9 and 10 in the Eastern Conference; the winner will face the loser of Tuesday’s 7-8 game, for the East’s final spot in the playoffs. At 10 p.m. today, there’s a similar 9-10 face-off for the Western Conference.
