2) “The Cleaning Lady,” 8 p.m., Fox. In last week’s season-opener, Thony’s world transformed yet again. Her protector (an FBI agent) was killed. Now she juggles two jobs — resident in a tiny hospital and on-call as the cartel’s doctor. That’s not easy, in a rough and intense hour.

3) “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” 9 p.m., Fox. Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the former “Cosby Show” kid, has done strong work on Fox. He was terrific in “The Resident,” had a disturbing episode of “Accused” and now plays an interim chief inspector, helping on a case that’s personal to him.

4) “The Rookie,” 8 p.m., ABC. It’s April 1, so the show has an appropriate episode: An April Fool’s Day prank on the police social media gets out of hand, causing citywide chaos. That follows “Will Trent,” which becomes the latest show (after “Tracker” and “Elsbeth) to probe a “wellness” retreat.

5) “Bad Romance” season-opener, 10:01 p.m., ABC. Leaning more heavily on its news division, ABC inserts this true-crime sries. Tonight’s hour focuses on a young woman who is brutally slain, shortly after adopting a baby.
