Networks are sometimes slow about decisions, leaving shows in limbo until the mid-fall, when a new season is announced. Lately, however, CBS has tried to speed that up.
It has already announced three new shows for fall. There’s a “Blue Bloods” spin-off (“Boston Blue,” with Donnie Wahlberg), a “Fire Country” spin-off (“Sheriff Country”) and a variation on music competitions: “The Road” will have Keith Urban doing a concert mini-tour with emerging country stars.
“Blue Bloods” has already finished its 14th and final season. “The Neighborhood” has announced that next season (its eighth) will be its last.
Another comedy, “Poppa’s House,” is stioo in limbo. Other shows have been renewed – including “FBI,” which will no longer have its spin-offs.
