1) “The Go-Go’s” (2020), 8-10 p.m., CW. Bursting out of the punk-rock scene, this was unique at the time – an all-female rock band. Its debut album in 1982 hit No. 1 and had the No. 2 single, “We Got the Beat.” The Go-Go’s (shown here) sold seven million records and launched Belinda Carlisle’s solo career.
2) Basketball. The college tournament has quickly trimmed from 68 teams to 32. Now a new round begins, with games on CBS at noon, 2:30, 5 and 7:30 p.m. There’s more, at 6 and 8:30 p.m. on TNT and 7 and 9:30 on TBS.
3) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., CBS. During this 50th season, the show has been bringing back its past stars. Martin Short hosted this episode (on Dec. 21), his fifth time over a 36-year span; Hozier was the music guest. At 10 p.m. is an hour-long version of an episode (December, 2023) hosted by Emma Stone, with Noah Kahan as music guest.
4) “Next Level Chef” and “Farmer Wants a Wife,” 8 and 9 p.m., Fox. Here are reruns of the Thursday reality shows. First, chefs create barbecue feasts and try to make elevated dishes that include cauliflower. Then four young farmers each meet eight potential mates.
5) Movies. FX has two lushly crafted films – non-cartoons, with characters from cartoon hits. It’s “Cruella” (2021) at 5 p.m. and “Mulan” (2020) at 8. Elsewhere, AMC has Steven Spielberg’s brilliant “Saving Private Ryan” (1998) at 7 p.m.; the Paramount Network has the terrific “Top Gun: Maverick” (2022) at 6 and 9.
