There really is good news (occasionally) in the TV world.
Now we have fresh examples: “Ted Lasso” (shown here) is returning … “Dark Winds” is prospering … And natural-world documentaries keep getting better. Details:

— Ted’s back: When “Ted Lasso” finished its third season – almost two years ago – there was no word that there would ever be a fourth.
The first three seasons had won 13 Emmys (including two for best comedy) and endless praise. But star Jason Sudeikis (right), producer Bill Lawrence (who also does “Shrinking”) and others seemed to be busy elsewhere.
Now Apple TV+ says the show will be back, without being specific/ Lawrence is still listed as a producer, but the show has added Jack Burditt (“Nobody Wants This,” “Modern Family,” “30 Rock”) as a producer, alongside Sudeikis and others.

— Bright times for “Dark Winds”: Things have been rough lately for scripted shows on basic cable, but “Dark Winds” may be an exception.
The richly crafted series (9 p.m. Sundays on AMC) follows Joe Leaphorn, a police lieutenant in the Navajo Nation. AMC says the opener drew 2.2 million viewers over a three-day stretch, a 50-percent boost from the second-season start. A fourth season has already been ordered.

— And this is a splendid time for nature filmmaking.
“The Americas” (7 and 8 p.m. Sundays on NBC) continues to impress. Coming next are the annual films (debuting around Earth Day) James Cameron produces for the National Geographic Channel and Disney+.
Previous ones have viewed elephants, whales and octopuses. Coming next (April 21) are penguins.
Reviews are embargoed for now, but if they weren’t we’d be raving. Keep those dates in mind.
