1) “Grey’s Anatomy” (shown here) return, 10 p.m., ABC. In the midst of a heat wave, Jo and Lucas went to a convenience story to get ice. There was a gunman, a fight and a shot; now – 15 weeks later – we learn what happened. There’s chaos in the hospital and Ben’s emergency plan faces challenges. Also, Amelia and Winston disagree about a patient.
2) “9-1-1” and “Doctor Odyssey” returns, 8 and 9 p.m., ABC. Both shows, back from 15-week breaks, start two-week stories. First, a call sends Maddie toward an individual crisis.. (Also, there’s an animal -shelter fire. Then “Odyssey” deals with shark bites. And after a rescue, a mysterious passenger catches Max’s attention.
3) “Elsbeth,” 10 p.m., CBS. You should never invite Elsbeth to a tour of historic crime sites; she’ll just re-open the whole case. This story involves a killing that inspired a “Godfather”-type movie. It has clever surprises and gives Alyssa Milano (“Charmed,” “Who’s the Boss?”) a change-of-pace role.
4) “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” 8 p.m., CBS. Georgie’s mother-in-law decides the tire shop needs changes to lure ladies. Georgie helps … putting both of them in trouble with her husband. Mandy tries to mediate.
5) “Going Dutch,” 9:30, Fox. We knew Col. Quinn (Denis Leary) has three ex-wives (including Capt. Quinn’s mom). But now they arrive at the same time, and all know each other. That follows an “Animal Control” in which Frank and Victoria try to replace the donor they repelled.
