2) “The White Lotus” season-opener, 9 p.m., HBO, repeating at 10:03. The first season won 10 Emmys and the second (rerunning from 1:30-9 p.m.) added five more. Now the third season begins, this time in Thailand, with a few returning elements – writer-director Mike White, co-star Natasha Rothwell (Belinda in the first season) and an elegant resort.

3) “Miss Scarlet” season-finale, 8 p.m, PBS. All season, Eliza has been debating Inspector Blake, who distrusts private detectives. Now they work together, after one of his men is attacked. It’s a fairly good story, ending with a terrific moment; that leads into “All Creatures Great and Small,” which has a neat detour in the brothers’ relationship.

4) Animation, 8-10 p.m. With its deep bench of cartoons, Fox rests “The Simpsons” until March 30. Now it has belated season-openers: On “Family Guy,” a fairly clever “Top Gun” satire. On “Grimsburg,” a reminder that it’s a mixed blessing to live with the ghost of a ‘50s TV housewife. On “The Great North,” a local reality show, “Dropped Off to Die.”

5) ALSO: CBS finally has its Sunday dramas back, with new episodes of ratings-leaders “Tracker” (8 p.m.) and “The Equalzer” (10). In between is the second “Watson” episode; like the first, it’s sleek and smart, but emotionally distant. At 8 p.m. ET, TBS and TNT have the NBA All-Star Game and Turner Classic Movies has the splendid “West Side Story” (1961).
