2) “All American,” 8 p.m., CW. It’s the first day of school everywhere: At Beverly Hills, KJ (instantly the show’s best character) is the new quarterback and his dad is coach … At Crenshaw, Jordan (now a coach) tries to cool a feud … And at law school, Coop feels overwhelmed. It’s a good episode, including a crisis for Layla, Jordan’s wife.

3) “The Bachelor,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. The 14 remaining women have just settled into the Los Angeles mansion, when Grant Ellis whisks one of them off to Las Vegas. Later, he has a surprise prom night. This injects people from other reality shows, including Lisa Vanderpump, David Lubetzky (of “Shark Tank) and some “Golden Bachelorette” folks.

4) “The Hunting Party,” 10 p.m., NBC. The opener – which NBC aired three times – was quite nasty, but this episode is far worse, with a villain who is simultaneously sad and scary. The final minutes of this case are near-copies of the first episode. And at a key time, cops forget to cover the exits.

5) “Murdoch Mysteries” season-opener, www.acorn.tv. An eternal drama returns. This season (its 18th) has aired on Ovation and starts its 22 episodes on Acorn. The first hour – set among re-enactors of the War of 1812 — is a flimsy trifle; many of them are. But it introduces a new character, has changes at the police station, and continues its low-stress route.
