1) “Doc,” 9 p.m., Fox. For Amy (Molly Parker, shown here), it’s the first day back at work, after a crash took away eight years of personal and medical memories. Flashbacks show when she was an overbearing medical chief; now she can only watch and suggest. This compelling hour has opposite patients, one in denial, the other deeply loving. We also see Amy’s life, emerging from a fog.
2) “The Joe Schmo Show,” 9 p.m., TBS. Two decades ago, “Schmo” told a guy he was in a reality show; actually, everyone else was an actor, including a pre-fame Kristen Wiig. A variation (“Jury Duty”) arrived in 2023; now the original returns. This opener works well, thanks to host Cat Deeley, quasi-villain Jonathan Lipnicki and a likable chap named Ben.
3) “St. Denis Medical,” 8 p.m., NBC. After last week’s hilarious episode, this one is merely fairly funny. Two surgeons, who skillfully probe human bodies, face the enigma of an electrician chore. That’s followed by “Night Court,” with Abby trying to find why her boyfriend has had so any break-ups.
4) “Finding Your Roots,” 8 p.m., PBS. In a terrific hour, writers are surprised by the roots of women who inspired their work. Rita Dove learns of her grandmother’s hard-scrabble start; Amy Tan learns of her mother’s triumph over a male-oriented legal system in China.
5) ALSO: ABC’s dramas – “Will Trent,” “High Potential,” “The Rookie” – have new episodes; CBS’ FBI shows have one more rerun week, then return to new shows. And at 10, PBS’ “Frontline” views the Trump comeback.
