1) “Grammy Greats: The Most Memorable Moments,” 9-11 p.m., CBS. A 55-year run will end in 2027. when the Grammys move to ABC, Hulu and Disney+. For now, CBS grabs all the Grammy moments it can. This special has Dua Lipa, Ricky Martin (shown here), Jennifer Hudson, Keith Urban, Bonnie Raitt, LL Cool J, Joni Mitchell, Elton John and more.
2) “Frozen” (2013) and “Frozen II” (2019). 7 and 9 p.m, ABC. For a while, it seemed like Disney’s only good cartoons were through its Pixar wing. Then came “Frozen,” with gorgeous visuals and lush music, sung by Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad. It won Oscars for best animated feature and song (“Let It Go”), topped $1 billion and led to a splendid sequel.
3) Mid-season preview, 9:32 p.m., Fox. Jerry O’Connell leads a celebration of Fox’s upcoming shows. And yes, Fox has reasons to celebrate: The fall season was shabby; mid-season looks quite good. “Doc” (Jan. 7) is a terrific drama … “Animal Control” is back and funny, alongside an almost-adequate “Going Dutch” (Jan. 2) … and there’s the Super Bowl (Feb. 9).
4) “Universal Basic Guys” season-finale, 8:30 p.m., Fox. The season started with the “humor” of a face-ripping monkey; it ends with Mark causing two men and a robot to have heart attacks. This is another reason why mid-season will be an improvement. For now, there’s a promising “Simpsons” at 8.
5) “Hunger Games” films, 5:30, 8:30 and 11:30 p.m. and 2 a.m., AMC. Next week, AMC starts the second season of “Mayfair Witches” and “Sanctuary.” To get us in the dark-adventure mood, it offers the full “Hunger” cycle. The last two films also air at noon and 2:30 p.m., prior to the first ones.
