1) “Grammy Greats: The Stories Behind the Songs,” 9-11 p.m., CBS. A slow week is being brightened by three specials from the Grammy people. There was an Andrea Bocelli hour Tuesday; a “Memorable Moments” special is Sunday. In between, this talks to songwriters – Alicia Keys (shown here), Sting, Billie Eilish, Kenny Loggins, Bonnie Raitt and more.
2) “The Greatest @Home Videos,” 8 p.m., CBS. This amiable show doesn’t appear often, but it now gets two Fridays, back to back. Today, host Cedric the Entertainer has a Christmas theme; next week are his “Cedy Awards.”
3) Football. The bowl barrage peaks this weekend, with five games today and eight – yes, eight – Saturday. Today, ESPN squeezes in four of nthem – Navt and Oklahoma at noon ET, Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech at 3:30, Arkansas and Texas Tech at 7, Southern Cal ad Texas A&M at 10:30. Fox adds Syracuse and Washington State, at 8.
4) Reruns, 8 p.m. ABC has “High Potential,” its likable series about a brainy cleaning lady who helps solve crimes. NBC counters with two comedies: “Happy’s Place” has a women-only night at the bar; “Lopez vs. Lopez” has an exceptionally awful episode, centering on efforts to win a wedding prize.
5) Movies. “Challengers,” with a couple Golden Globe nominations, is at 8 p.m. on MGM+; “Despicable Me” movies are at 5, 7 and 9 p.m. on Freeform. But the real fun is on BBC America: “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” at 4:45, “Galaxy Quest” at 6:45 and “Princess Bride” at 9.
