1) “San Diego: America’s Wildest City,” 8 p.m., PBS. Surrounded by mountains, a desert and an ocean, San Diego has rich variety. This lush hour sees whales attack dolphins, a roadrunner stalk hummingbirds. Humans also have an impact: Their garbage attracts coyotes, raccoons (shown here) and bobcats; their reservoirs draw grebe, which seem to walk (or dance) on water.
2) “The Masked Singer,” 8 p.m., Fox. After pausing for baseball and the election, Fox return to its regular line-up. So far, this edition has ousted one singer (Paula Cole) and five others – John Elway, Andy Richter, Laverne Cox, Marsai Martin and Yvette Nicole Brown. Now it opens a ‘60s night with the Beach Boys song, “Fun, Fun, Fun.”
3) “Shrinking,” Apple TV+. Harrison Ford always seems on top of things when he’s being Han Solo or Indiana Jones. Not now. He’s simultaneously with the ex-wife he ignores, the daughter he likes, the son-in-law he mocks and the girlfriend he loves. There’s much more, in an episode that deftly ranges from comedy to drama and despair.
4) “Abbott Elementary,” 9:30 p.m., ABC. When Gregory befriends a student, the dad becomes jealous. That follows “The Golden Bachelorette” (8 p.m.), with its “men tell all” episode, setting up next week’s finale.
5) ALSO: Nudged aside by Tuesday’s election coverage, wrestling is 8-10 p.m. today on CW. That bumps “Sullivan’s Crossing” and pushes “Inside the NFL” to Friday. And if you’ve wondered where the current phrase “gaslight” began, catch Ingrid Bergman’s “Gaslight” movie (1944, adapted from a 1938 play), at 8 p.m. ET on Turner Classic Movies.
