1) “What We Do in the Shadows,” 10 p,m., FX. Three weeks from its finale, this terrific show pushes its stories into overdrive. Nandor (shown here, left, in a previous episode) realizes that for a while – well, for centuries – he’s drifted from his role as a great commander. Now he’s organized an army that seems suspiciously invisible. Stick with this episode, because the final minutes pack surprises.
2) “SNL Election Special,” 10 p.m., NBC. For a half-century, “Saturday Night Live” has satirized politics. It’s given us a bumbling Gerald Ford, baffled Joe Biden, bewildered Donald Trump. It’s had real candidates on the show, including Trump, Al Gore, Sarah Palin and George McGovern. Now, on election eve, it offers some of the past highlights.
3) “Inspector Ellis,” www.acorn.tv. This is a strong night for the little streaming service – a good, one-hour episode of “Whitstable Pearl” (a fatal meal at Pearl’s restaurant) and a very good two-hour opener here. Ellis (Sharon D. Clarke) is a hard-eyed cop sent to towns with tough cases. In this opener, the police chief is a cliché, but the story is first-rate.
4) “NCIS” and “NCIS: Origins,” 9 and 10 p.m., CBS. The crises are both global and personal. First, there are reports of multiple attacks planned; the NCIS scrambles to avoid warfare. Then, as execution nears, Franks tries to get a death-row inmate to reveal the location of a body.
5) ALSO: From 9-11 p.m., PBS repeats (or updates) “The Choice,” its combined profile of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. From 8-10, NBC continues its “”The Voice” battle rounds. And at 8:15, three channels – ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 – have the Bucs-Chiefs football game.
