1) “Only Murders in the Building” season-finale, Hulu. After lots of twists, this gem reached a breakthrough last week: The young writer, we learned, apparently stole Sazz’s script, put his name on it and killed her. But now Mabel (Selena Gomez, shown here) is alone with him; she and her colleagues (Steve Martin and Martin Short) will be in mortal danger.
2) “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” debut, 8 and 8:30 p.m. Disney Channel, rerunning at 9. Gomez was only 15 when she starred as Alex, a young witch in the “Wizards of Waverly Place” series. Now, 17 years later, she guests on this sequel, with Alex asking her brother to train a powerful and mischievous young witch. Two more episodes are at 8 p.m. Wednesday/
3) “Dancing With the Stars,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. It’s the Halloween edition. The pros and others dance to “Murder on the Dancefloor” (sung by Sophie Ellis-Bextor), plus “Asereje” and a chant from the Disney+ series “Agatha All Along.” The seven remaining couples also offer holiday moments.
4) World Series, 8:08 p.m. ET, Fox, with pre-game at 7. The fourth game of the best-of-seven series has the Dodgers at the Yankees, on a night when seasons merge. There are pro games at 7:30 and 10 p.m. on TNT (basketball) and ESPN (hockey), plus college football at 7 on CBS Sports Network and 7:30 on ESPN. Also, CW has wrestling at 8.
5) MORE: At 10 p.m., festive events lead to murder probes. On ABC’s “High Potential,” it’s a wild office party. On NBC’s “The Irrational,” it’s a wedding inside a foreign embassy, where the bride’s father was being protected.
