1) “I Am Alfred Hitchcock” (2021), 8-10 p.m., CW. Deftly fanning his fame, Hitchcock (shown here) did interviews, hosted a TV series, did cameos in his films … and directed great movies. Ranging from the haunting “Psycho” to the lively “North by Northwest,” they drew 46 Oscar nominations and six wins. Here’s a profile of a man who also had a controlling attitude.
2) “Ghosts,” 9:30 p.m., CBS. The show has just started its fourth season, but now it goes back to the first year for this rerun (following a “Summit” rerun at 8): When the ghosts room together, they learn of Thor’s night terrors.
3) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. After starting its 50th season with four new episodes, “SNL” pauses to rerun the opener. It’s a good one, with Jean Smart hosting and Jelly Roll as music guest. The show will be back with a new episode next week, with John Mulaney and Chappell Roan.
4) Sports surge. The second World Series game has the Yankees and Dodgers, ar 8:08 p.m. ET on Fox. That collides with a big football day for ABC: Notre Dame (ranked No. 24) at Navy, at noon; Missouri (No. 21) at Alabama (No. 15) at 3:30 ad Louisiana State (No. 8) at Texas A&M (No. 14) at 7:30.
5) MORE: The Disney Channel takes three of its daytime Mickey Mouse episodes (about autumn and Halloween) and puts them at 9:40, 10:05 and 10:30 p.m. And grown-ups can find strong films with Bruce Willis (“The Sixth Sense” at 7 p.m. on FX, “Looper” at 8 on MGM+) or Robert De Niro – “Casino” at 3:30 and 10:30 on Sundance, with “Goodfellas” at 7:30.
