“Enter Sandman” / “Enter Sandman, Part 2” – NCIS: ORIGINS follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS, and is narrated by Mark Harmon. In the series, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office, where he forges his place on a gritty ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid), on the series premiere of NCIS: ORIGINS, Monday, Oct. 14 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Best-bets for Oct. 19: new “SNL,” almost-new “Origins”

1) “NCIS: Origins,” 8-10 p.m., CBS. If you missed the series debut Monday, catch this quick rerun. It’s intense and involving, but has moments of fun. 2) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. It’s the fourth straight new episode for “SNL.” Michael Keaton – fresh from passing $400 million worldwide with his “Beetlejuice” sequel – hosts. Billie Eilish has her fourth turn as music guest; in one of the previous ones, she also hosted.

3) Football. Top-ranked Texas hosts Georgia (ranked No. 5) at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Two other promising match-ups are at 3:30 – Alabama (No. 7) at Tennessee (No. 11) on ABC, Michigan (No. 24) at Illinois (No. 22) on CBS.

4) More sports. At 7:30 p.m., CW has NASCAR. At 8:08, it’s baseball – barring a four-game sweep (check Sports): The Guardians host the Yankees in the fifth game of a best-of-seven series, on TBS, TruTV and Max. Also tonight: soccer on Ion, figure-skating on E, wrestling on TNT.

5) More: BET reruns its Hip Hop Awards, from 8-10 p.m. The Paramount Network has “Top Gun” and its sequel (34 years apart), at 7:35 and 10:05 p.m.; Showtime has “Godfather” and its sequel, at 7:30 and 10:30.
