2) “American Historia,” 9 p.m., PBS. John Leguizamo takes a strong and unfiltered look at Hispanic history. Some viewers will be disturbed by the harsh accounts; others will commend his intensity. This is a three-parter, starting by going back to ancient empires.

3) “Inside the NFL,” 9 p.m., CW. After being banished to Wednesdays last week, this is back in its regular spot. That puts it against two college games: Miami (ranked No. 7) hosts Virginia Tech, at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN; Rutgers hosts Washington, at 8 on Fox.

4) “The Greatest @Home Videos,” 8 p.m., CBS. The next couple Fridays will have lots of reruns on the big networks. Here’s an exception, with Cedric the Entertainer offering videos – funny ones, mostly – from social media.

5) ALSO: Now for those reruns. At 8 p.m., ABC has Thursday’s “Doctor Odyssey” debut and NBC has an hour of its “Voice” season-opener. At 9 and 10, CBS has “Fire Country” reruns – first, the Firefighters’ Ball, as the program faces possible cancellation; then two units face a roaring fire.
