1) “Tulsa King,” 8 p.m., CBS. It’s time for a showdown, with Dwight (Sylvester Stallone, shown here) and his crew facing Waltrip and his motorcycle gang. Also, a flashback shows why Dwight went to prison, 25 years ago. That wraps the first season; the second starts next Sunday on Paramount+, where this episode aired 20 months ago.
2) Cartoons. The good news is that Fox saved new episodes from the current “Bob’s Burgers” and “The Great North” season; it will air them (no reruns) the next three Sundays, before the new season starts. The bad news is they back up the “Universal Basic Guys” debut (8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT), which is blunt, heavy-handed and so-so.
3) Sunday-night football opener, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC, with pre-game at 7. Here’s a rematch of last year’s wild-card game. The Rams trailed the Lions 24-23, got into field-goal range (the 34), but had a holding penalty. They punted with 4 minutes, 15 second left and never got the ball back. It was the Lions’ first home playoff win in 30 years.
4) “America’s National Parks,” 3 p.m. to 1:32 a.m. After finishing one ambitious documentary series (“OceanXplorers”), Nat Geo returns to another. New hours are at 8 (Katma) and 9 p.m. (Everglades). They’re surrounded by reruns, including Grand Tetons at both 7 and 10:32.
5) “Snowpiercer,” 9 p.m., AMC. A tough, taut show is a week from its finale. Wilford and the Admiral) are dead, but crises linger. Can Big Alice make it back to New Eden? What about Layton, Josie and the baby, who were abandoned? And what happens when the soldiers pursue? A strong hour propels us toward next week.
