1) “American Masters,” 8-9:30 p.m., PBS. Blake Edwards was known for cinema silliness — “Pink Panther” films (shown here), “The Great Race,” lots of sight gags. But before that was “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” later came films (including “10”) reflecting his depression and mid-life crisis. Here’s a superb portrait of a talented and complicated guy.
2) “Only Murders in the Building” season-opener, Hulu. Each season has drawn a pile of Emmy nominations, including best-comedy. And each seems better than the one before. This fourth one finds the true-crime buffs in Hollywood, while Charles (Steve Martin) frets. Someone killed his body double, and he may have been the target.
3) “Counting the Votes,” 9:30 p.m., PBS. Margaret Hoover probes a favorite subject of her fellow Republicans. She starts with the vote-counting chaos in 2000 Florida and the rage in 2020. Then she tours the country, finding changes aimed at getting faster results.
4) “America’s Got Talent,” 8-10 p.m., NBC. Eleven more acts try for a spot in the finals. There’s a comedian, a clown, a magician, an aerialist and lots of musicians, including some ages 14, 10 and 9. Viewers will vote, with the results airing Wednesday.
5) ALSO: ABC has the “men tell all” edition of “The Bachelorette” at 8 p.m., with a new hour of the “Lucky 13” quiz show at 10. And Turner Classic Movies has Spike Lee’s acclaimed “Do the Right Thing” (1989) at 8 p.m. and his “Get on the Bus” (1996) at 10:15.
