Best-bets for Aug. 15: Sitcoms and streamers prevail

1) “Young Sheldon,” 9 p.m., CBS. The final season was filled with great moments; now it’s being rerun. 2) More comedy reruns. On “The Conners” (8 and 8:30 p.m., CW), Dan empathizes the importance of being a Chicago Bear fans; also, Harris gets accepted for college. And on “Ghosts” (9:30, CBS), the ghosts finally figure out who was whooshed skyward.

3) Streaming. Post-Olympics, streamers resume control. Wednesday launched the rollicking “Bad Monkey” (Apple TV+). Today, Amazon Prime’s “Jackpot” has Awkwafina getting billions and a bodyguard (John Cena). Netflix has five “Emily in Paris” episodes today and Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg in “The Union” Friday.

4) “Law & Order” shows, NBC, After an Olympic break, NBC’s shows return via reruns. At 8 p.m., a developer’s murder leaves ample suspects. At 9 p.m., Sykes is restless, on the anniversary of her sister’s disappearance. At 10, Stabler is undercover, leaving Randall alone in the search for their brother.

5) “The Outsiders” (1983),6 p.m., AMC. Francis Coppola’s passionate drama leads a night of well-made youth films. There’s “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” (1982) at 8, “Revenge of the Nerds” (1984) at 10 and “Animal House” (1978) at midnight.
