Best-bets for Aug. 5: It’s track’s week at Olympics

2) More Olympics. NBC also has men’s gymnastics individual events live at 9:30 a.m. ET and women’s platform diving at 10:15. There’s beach volleyball at 7:15 a.. on USA and 5 p.m. on NBC. And 3-on-3 basketball has its semi-finals at 11:30 a.m. on USA and gold-medal finals at 4 p.m. on NBC.

3) “Signora Volpe,” 6-8:07 p.m., BBC America; and acorn.tv. It’s the second of three movie-length mysteries – and a key turning point. Sylvia (Emilia Fox), a former British spy who moved to Italy, is working undercover in a free-lance job. She meets a key figure from her past, propelling next week’s potent finale.

4) “The Bachelorette,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. After dumping 17 guys, Jenn Tran has 11 left, including two medical students, a former Army Ranger and a pet-portrait guy. Tonight in New Zealand, she has large-scale dates via helicopter and horseback, plus a more down-to-earth group date at a sheep farm.

5) ALSO: CW has new episodes of “All American: Homecoming” and “61st Street,” at 8 and 9 p.m. “History’s Greatest Escapes” (9 p.m., History) looks at a San Quentin escape, And Turner Classic Movies has a day of musicals, peaking with two classics – “Oklahoma” (1955) and “Carousel” (1956), at 8 and 10:30 p.m.
