1) Olympics: men’s team gymnastics, NBC. Unlike other events, gymnastics starts fast, hands out team medals, then starts all over.. The team finals are today for men (shown here) and Tuesday for women; individuals medals start Wednesday, You can catch this live – 11:30 a.m. ET today, 12:15 p.m. Tuesday – or wait for the evening wrap-ups, from 8-11 p.m.
2) More Olympics. There’s live coverage from Paris all day on NBC, USA and Peacock. That includes swimming, diving, rugby, field hockey and more. On NBC, the U.S. beach volleyball duos have matches at 9 a.m. (men) and 12:15 p.m. ET (women). On USA, the women’s basketball team plays at 2:45 p.m. All of it will also be folded into NBC’s primetime package.
3) “The Bachelorette,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. Jenn Tran and the guys move from Australia to New Zealand. There, one date involves learning the native Maori culture and another involves thrill-seeking. Other guys try rugby.
4) “Signora Volpe” season-opener, 6-8:09 p.m., BBC America, or www.acorn.tv. This quickly became one of the best mysteries Acorn imports. It has gorgeous settings, a sharp star (Emilia Fox as a British ex-spy, moving near her sister in small-town Italy) and complex, movie-length stories. The opener unpacks a load of blackmail and revenge.
5) “61st Street,” 9 p.m., CW. In last week’s season-opener, a young cop got drunk and beat a Black man to death. He can’t recall what happened and fellow cops covered it up. But he blurted out a confession to a Black lawyer (Courtney Vance). Now two men are trapped in dilemmas. This second hour is intense, involving and then brutal.
6) “The 1% Club,” 9 p.m., Fox. Here’s a second chance to see the opening episode, a surprisingly good one. It has a clever concept, sharp questions and great exchanges between Patton Oswalt and the contestants. Other reruns include CBS’ “The Neighborhood,” “NCIS” and “NCIS: Hawaii.”
