Best-bets for July 27: Now the games begin

That starts today, with some medals being handed out in swimming (shown here), diving, skateboarding and more.

2) “Mammals,” 8-9:20 p.m., BBC America. Few mammals thrive in the water … but the ones who do are amazing. We see dolphins construct a sort of wall; fish leap over it … and are munched like flying popcorn. We see whales sharing food and child-care. The film crews offer scenes that are simultaneously gorgeous and informative.

3) “9-1-1,” 8-11 p.m., ABC. The 9 p.m. episode is set on Maddie’s wedding day, with one complication: The groom, Eddie “Chimney” Han, is missing; friends rush to find hmi. The 8 and 10 p.m. hours partly focus on Hen and Karen taking in Mara as their foster daughter.

4) “SWAT,” 8 p.m., CBS. This reruns the second half of the season-opener. A prisoner-transfer has gone wrong. Now Hondo and Hicks are in Mexico City, searchig for an escapee who has a bomb capable of killing thousands.

5) Movies. Freeform has animated Disney films – finding Nemo and Dory at 2:45 and 5:15, then “Luca” at 7:20 and “Brave” at 9:23. And Sundance visits ‘80s teen films. Betweenn runs of “Sixteen Candles” at 2:15 and 10:40 p.m., it has “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” 4:30; “The Outsiders,” 6:30; and “The Breakfast Club,” 8:30.
