1) Kids Choice Awards,” 8-9:30 p.m., Nickelodeon, CMT and TV. Land. The previous shows have had famous hosts, but none were cartoons – until now. SpongeBob Squarepants (shown here) and Patrick Star host; nominated for favorite movie: “Barbie,” “Wonka,” :”The Marvels,” “Little Mermaid” and sequels of “Aquaman,” “Ghostbusters,” “Transformers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
2) “Mammals” debut, 8-9:23 p.m.,, BBC America. Surrounded by reruns of other nature shows, here’s a fresh batch of masterful filmmaking. David Attenborough, 98 , narrated the six-week series. The first hour views nighttime, when only a minority of mammals (including us) sleep.
3) “Shark Week” finale, Discovery. The competing “SharkFest” (on National Geographic) continues, but Discovery – which started this in 1988 – sticks to one week. There are reruns all day and then two new hours: At 8 p.m., scientists search for one of Indonesia’s last leopard sharks; at 9, they pose a rarely asked question: Where do scalloped hammerhead sharks give birth?.
4) “Faye,” 8 p.m., HBO, rerunning at 10:33 and 12:41. Faye Dunaway was a near-unknown when she starred in the brilliant “Bonnie and Clyde” (1967). She drew an Oscar nomination for that one and for “Chinatown” (1974), then won for “Network” in ‘76. She’s kept working in movies and on TV; at 83, she looks back at a busy life.
5) ALSO: “Press Your Luck” has its season-opener Thursday; to get us ready, ABC has reruns from 8-11 p.m. today, Also at 8, CBS reruns a “Tracker” hour, involving a missing grad student. And at 11:29, a “Saturday Night Live” rerun is hosted by Pete Davidson, with Ice Spice as music guest.
