1) Sharks (shown here), Discovery. The 37th annual “Shark Week” begins, with reruns during the day and new hours (21 of them) at night, hosted by John Cena. . The first two are in New Zealand — a 29-foot fake whale stirs a feeding frenzy (8 p.m.), a 60-foot real one battles a shark (9).Others, in California and Australia, are at 10 and 11.
2) “Orphan Black: Echoes,”10 p.m., AMC and BBC Amrica. The first two episodes focused on Lucy (Krysten Ritter), who fled after realizing she was created in the lab. Now we shift to another terrific actress – Amanda Fix as a teen version of Lucy. It’s an intriguing hour of deception and discovery.
3) “Professor R” and “Grantchester,” 8 and 9 p.m., PBS. Both shows had pivotal moments last week: The professor was freed from jail, Grantchester got its new vicar. Starting the second half of their six-week seasons, both have fairly good murder mysteries, alongside some ongoing personal stories that are so-so, at best,
4) “60 Minutes,” 7 and 8 p.m., CBS. It’s the final week of double reruns for the show. (Next week, “Tulsa King,” Sylvester Stallone’s streaming series, starts transplanted reruns at 8.) That’s followed by reruns of “Tracker” and “Equalizer”; tonight, Colter tracks survivors of a plane crash and Robyn searches for her daughter’s trans friend.
