1) BET Awards, 8-11:30 p.m., BET; also, MTV, VH1, Pop, Nickelodeon and TV Land. Taraji Henson hosts a night with award for movies, TV, sports and – especially – music. Nominees performing include Ice Spice (shown here), Victoria Monet, Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Latto, Tyla ad Sexyy Red, Also performing: Lauryn Hill, Shaboozey, and more; Usher gets a special award.
2) “Interview With the Vampire” season-finale, 9-10:15 p.m., AMC. Last week’s episode seemed fierce and final.Claudia disintegrated (literally); Louis barely survived confinement. But now the show – which has been renewed for next season – comes up with fresh jolts and surprises. As usual, it’s sharply written and beautifully acted.
3) “Grantchester,” 9 p.m , PBS. Geordie (Robson Green), a cop, keeps solving crimes with the help of a local vicar. But now the vicar – his second one, actually – has left; what’s next? A n episode that’s sometimes quite funny, but has another murder to solve. That follows a pivotal “Professor T.”
4) “Orphan Black: Echoes.” 10:15 p.m., AMC and BBC America. Dismayed to learn she’s a clone, Lucy is grasping for details. Alas, her efforts – a gun and duct tape are involved – go too far. At times, this “Orphan Black” sequel (set 35 years later) is compelling. At others, it tries too hard;“Uncle Felix” is way too young and almost cartoon-ish.
5) ALSO: There’s the season-finale of “The Chi” (9 p.m. on Showtime, rerunning at 10:30) and the end of the Olympic trials (track-and-field at 7:30 on NBC, then women’s gymnastics).Meanwhile, “Sharkfest” begins at 9 p.m. on National Geographic, a week ahead of Discovery’s “Shark Week.”
