Best-bets for June 28: Gymnasts leap to glory

1) Women’s gymnastics Olympic trials, 8-10 p.m., NBC. This has become the new favorite Olympic sport for many Americans, with past champions (Simone Biles, shown here, and Suni Lee) back for more. 2) “A Family Affair,” Netflix. It’s always messy when your mom is having an affair with your boss. In this case, Nicole Kidman, 57, and Zac Efron, 36, play the lovers, with Joey King, 24, as the daughter/employee. That joins a strong streaming week that already added “The Bear” on Hulu, “Land of Women” on Apple TV+ and “Lady Jane” on Amazon Prime.

3) “SWAT,” 9 p.m., CBS. A gang has stolen armor-piercing weapons, preparing for a large heist. That rerun is followed by a “Blue Bloods” one, with multiple cases: Danny investigates deaths at a hospital, his brother Jamie proves schemes to defraud the elderly and Anthony eyes a corrupt lawyer.

4) “Roots of Comedy,” 10 and 10:30 p.m., PBS. Jesus Trejo continues to profile wide-raging comedians. At 10, is Eeland Striblimg, am environmental biologist. At 10:30 is Tatanka Means, an Ogala Lakota actor (as was his father, American Indian Movement leader Russell Means) and comic.

5) Movies. The original “Beauty and the Beast” (1997), a gem that was the first animated film with an Oscar nomination for best picture, is 7 p.m. on Freeform. Other top films: At 8, CMT has “School of Rock” (2003) and Pop has “Titanic” (1997). At 8:30, E has “Bridesmaids” (2011).
