1) “Walker” series-finale, 8 p.m,, CW. After 13 seasons – nine as “Walker, Texas Ranger” and four as this prequel (shown here) – this ends. “You can’t kill it with a stick,” co-creator Paul Haggis used to say. But you can with economics: The new CW owners want lower-budget shows. The finale brings people together for Walker’s son’s graduation.
2) “The Real CSI: Miami” debut, 10 p.m., CBS. This plan has worked for CBS during summers, strikes and the pandemic – true-crime tales from agencies depicted in series. That was done with NCIS and FBI; now this starts with the story of a couple, 30 and 26, killed with young children nearby. A blackmail scheme was uncovered.
3) “Land of Women,” Apple TV+. For Gala (Eva Longoria), an upscale life vanishes. Her husband is missing and she’s on the run – something she has neither the skills nor the shoes for. Soon, she’s in Spain with her mother and college-age daughter. In Spanish (often) and English, this six-parter has action, humor and splendid scenery.
4) “Hope in the Water,” 9 p.m., PBS. “Aquaculture” is catching on now; “fish farms” take pressure off over-fished seas. Here, Martha Stewart visits a scallop farm. That follows a “Dynamic Planet” hour, looking at rising temperatures and a surge of wildfires.
5) ALSO: The complete third season of the Emmy-winning “The Bear” arrives on Hulu at 9 p.m. today, a day ahead of the orignal plan. Also at 9 (or 9:02, actually, Fox’s “Food Star” has three Mars candy executives as judges; the teams try a new chocolate bar, complete with name, wrapper and jingle.
