1) Tony Awards, 8-11 p.m., CBS. We can expect lots of vibrant music numbers – from the host (Ariana DeBose), the five nominated musicals (led by Alicia Keys’ “Hell’s Kitchen,” shown here, with 13 nominations) and three of the nominated revivals – of “Cabaret,” “Tommy” and “Merrily We Roll Along.” There’s more, including plays and (unlike last year, during the strikes) a script.
2) “Grantchester” season-opener, 9 p.m., PBS. It’s almost time to change crime-solving vicars again. James Norton did three seasons; Tom Brittney has done five, but is now preparing to leave. Each viicar works with Geordie, a local cop, tackling some smart mysteries. This season’s first three episodes are brilliant; the other three are fairly good.

That’s especially true now; he’s in jail, charged with firing a rifle in a police station. And yes, he still solves a crime each week. By comparison, “D.I. Ray” has one six-week tale. Both are well-crafted, but in very different ways.
4) “House of the Dragon” season-opener, 9 p.m. , HBO; also. Max. Last season ended in chaos for Rhaenyra. Her father, the king, had died …. Her baby was stillborn …. Her son Luke and his dragon were killed in battle. She was crowned as queen, with a catch: Her former childhood friend, now the king’s widow, had already crowned Rhaenyra’s younger half-brother. War looms..

That last one is at 5 p.m. ET on Fox; at 8:30, TMZ has a special on Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. But ABC has a rare non-sports night; it shows “The Jungle Book” (2016) at 9.
