Best-bets for June 12: Choose your mystery, light or heavy

1) “Wild Cards” return, 9 p.m., CW. The CW’s new owners jettisoned most shows, sometimes replacing them with ones that are co-produced in other countries. Some of those failed, but not “Wild Cards.” It has a clever concept (demoted cop working with a gorgeous grifter), likable stars (Giacomo Gianniotti and Vanessa Morgan, sown ere) and solid mysteries. 1) “Wild Cards” return, 9 p.m., CW. The CW’s new owners jettisoned most shows, sometimes replacing them with ones that are co-produced in other countries. Some of those failed, but not “Wild Cards.” It has a clever concept (demoted cop working with a gorgeous grifter), likable stars (Giacomo Gianniotti and Vanessa Morgan, sown ere) and solid mysteries. Now it reruns from the start.

2) “Presumed Innocent” opener, Apple TV+. This compelling eight-parter links two lawyers who became gifted writers: Scott Turow’s novel was adapted (brilliantly) by David E. Kelley. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a prosecutor who takes on a murder case he’s way too close to. There are sharp twists and great characters, led by his wife (Ruth Negga) and his nemesis (Peter Sarsgaard).

3) New dramas. As “Walker” (8 p.m., CW) nears the last episode of its final season, the Jackal investigation is falling into place. At 10 p.m. on Syfy’s “Reginald the Vampire,” Reginald takes Sarah and Maurice to an “end of the world” party in Spokane.

4) “MasterChef,” 8 p.m., Fox. In 2019, Nick DiGiovanni left Harvard to become (at 22) the youngest “MasterChef” contestant. He finished third, returned to graduate and became an internet chef; now he’s the guest judge, as the show chooses its “Generation Z” team. At 9 p.m., there’s more food on Fox (“Food Stars”) or on Bravo (the “Top Chef” semi-finals).

5) ALSO: After two games in Boston, basketball’s best-of-seven finals move to Dallas; that’s 8:30 p.m.ET, with pre-game show at 8. Movies are led by two 2015 films at 8 p.m.:Freeform has the lovely “Cinderella” (2015), directed by Kenneth Branagh; Showtime has “The Big Short,” which was nomnated for five Oscars (including best picture), winning for its witty script.
