1) “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Station 19” finales, 9 and 10 p.m. Thursday, ABC. Last week on “Station 19,” a wildfire roared toward Seattle. Now “Grey’s” feels the impact; the hospital is overwhelmed with burn and smoke victims. Then we see the “Station 19” firefighters (shown here) continuing to battle the blaze. That wraps the seventh and final season for the show; “Grey’s will be back for its 21st year.
2) “American Ninja Warrior” couples championship, 8-10 p.m. today, NBC. For NBC, the summer plan is basic – start fast, pause for the Olympics (July 26 to Aug. 11), then refresh and boom ahead. The regular “Ninja Warrior” season begins next week, but first is this competition involving 12 couples. It’s followed at 10 p.m. by a new “Weakest Link” hour, involving eight military veterans.
3) “America’s Got Talent” season-opener, 8-10 p.m. Tuesday, NBC. As the summertime ratings-leader, this is the key piece for NBC. Most of its time (10 noisy Tuesdays) will be spent on auditions. After the Olympics, the show reconvenes for live episodes on Tuesdays and results hours on Wednesdays. This week’s opener will be followed at 10 p.m. by a new “Password,” with Joel McHale.
4) Rodgers & Hammerstein’s 80th Anniversary,” 9 p.m. Friday, PBS. Broadway’s top songs are performed by amazing talents. “I’m the only one I’ve never heard of,” says Michael Ball, who conquers “Some Enchanted Evening” and more. He’s one of several London-based stars (including a vibrant Marisha Wallace), joined by Broadway’s Audra McDonald, Patrick Wilson and Aaron Tveit.
5) “The Great War,” today and Tuesday, History. Here is a sweeping, four-hour view of World War I. Its two parts each debut at 8 p.m., rerunning at 10:05, 12:03 and 2:05. Today, that’s preceded by a Memorial Day marathon of previous specials — “Hidden Heroes” at 7 a.m.; “World War II in HD” at 8 a,m.; and “The World Wars” from 2-8 p.m. On Tuesday, the opener reruns at 6 p.m.
6) “MasterChef: Generations” debut, 8 p.m. Wednesday, Fox. After a too-long, 10-minute intro, the show gets rolling. It will choose teams from four generations, starting with millennials (mostly early 30s), including Prya Krishna as guest judge. We soon meet a lawyer, a tax director and a “kitchen witch” who also has a nail salon. Wildly ambitious efforts draw mixed reactions.
7) “Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars,” 9 p.m. Wednesday, Fox. Yes, it’s Ramsay again, this time in an “Apprentice”-style match-up. He and Lisa Vanderpump each have a team with a food cart in an upscale London spot. What can go wrong? The wind howls, knocking down a tent and even scattering orders. Lines are long, diners are hungry, prices are iffy. It’s fun, in a dark and stormy way.
8) “The Conners,” 8-10 p.m. Wednesday (ABC) and Saturday (CW). The bad news is that this above-average comedy won’t be back until mid-season … for its final season. The good: Two networks have reruns. ABC’s are from this season, including a pivotal one for Bev (Jackie’s mom) at 9 p.m. CW’s are from 2021, including trouble at Ben’s hardware store and at Darlene’s supervisor job.
9) “Inside Out” (2015), 8-10 p.m. Sunday, ABC. Sunday movies used to be big on many networks. They faded, then were revived by CBS and ABC during the pandemic and the strikes. Now ABC has them this summer and fall, emphasizing Disney films. It starts with this delight, which won the best-animated-feature Oscar and was nominated for best script. Its sequel reaches theaters on June 14
10) ALSO: “Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted” (yes, his third show) arrives today (May 27) on National Geographic. There are reruns at 2 p.m. and new hours at 9 (Florida Keys) and 10 (Ireland), rerunning at midnight and 1 a.m. On Tuesday, Fox has the season-opener for “Beatt Shazam” at 8 p.m. and debuts “The Quiz With Balls” at 9. And at 8 p.m. Thursday, ABC’s “9-1-1” has its season finale.
