1) “Elsbeth” season-finale, 9 p.m., CBS. Amid some towering, glowering fashion models, Elsbeth (shown here) seems out of place. She’s 5-foot-4, given to bright clothes and brighter smiles. But before this hour ends, we’ll see an Elsbeth-inspired fashion show That part gets a tad goofy at times, but there’s also a solid murder mystery. It’s a fairly good finish to a terrific first season.
2) More CBS. Failing to capitalize on the good will spread by last week’s splendid “Young Sheldon” finale, CBS goes in another direction. At 8 p.m. (the “Sheldon” spot), it has a “Price is Right at Night” rerun; next week, it stacks “Ghost” reruns. At 10 p.m., today is an “Elsbeth” rerun, with Jesse Tyler Ferguson as a reality-show producer.
3) “Station 19,” 10 p.m., ABC. Next week, this ends its seven-year run. First, however, there’s a bigger thing to worry about – a wildfire rushing toward Seattle. That’s preceded by new episodes of “9-1-1” (an award for heroism at sea) and “Grey’s Anatomy” (a possible speed-up to the Alzheimer’s research). They end their season next week, but (unlike “Station 19”) will be back this fall.
4) “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” season-opener, 9 p.m., Fox. As other shows wrap up, the summer ones – games and reality, mostly – step in. Last week, Fox had the opener for “I Can See Your Voice”; now it has this lightweight show, hosted by Niecy Nash.
5) “Evil” season-opener, Paramount+. TV does have some people capable of opposite worlds, The creators of the light-hearted “Elsbeth” (Roberet and Michelle King”) also make this series about demons and portals and such. Emmy-winner Michael Emerson (the husband of “Elsbeth” star Carrie Preston) even plays someone planning to parent the Antichrist. A 14-episode final season begins.
