1) “Jeopardy Masters” opener, 8-9 p.m., ABC. In nine hours, spread over four weeks, top players will compete. James Holzhauer (shown here with host Ken Jennings), Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, Victoria Groce and Yogesh Raut are involved. That takes the next four Wednesdays (nudging “The Conners” to 9:30), plus three Mondays and two Fridays.
2) “Prisoner in Russia,” 10 p.m., ABC. Robin Roberts — a former sports reporter, now in news – tackles a story that mixes both: At 6-foot-9, Brittney Griner has been a pro-basketball star. In 10 seasons, she’s led the league eight times in blocks and once in scoring. But in Russia, she was arrested for having hash oil. Imprisoned for 10 months, she was freed via a prisoner exchange
3) “Mulan” (1998) and “Moana” (2016), 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., Freeform. Here are two terrific animated movies – the first one visually splendid, the second rippling with musical fun. That’s followed at 10 by “Grown-ish”: when Andre prepares for the dance-a-thon with Kiela, his ex-girlfriend Annika has second thoughts.
4) “Chucky” season-finale, 10-11:12 p.m., Syfy and USA. We really thought the afterlife would be more fun than this. Jake has plunged into that world, hoping to find Good Chucky and convince him to save the world. What we get, however, is lots of death and gore and oddly little wit. Even the presence of John Waters adds little.
5) Reality shows: There’s a reunion of “Dance Moms” kids, including JoJo Siwa (now a “So You Think You Can Dance” judge), from 8-10 p.m. on Lifetime. Also: “The Masked Singer” (8 p.m., Fox) opens with Bon Jovi doing “It’s My Life.” “The Amazing Race” (9:30 p.m., CBS), which visits Rihanna’s childhood home in Barbados, is two weeks from its finale; “Survivor” (8, CBS) is three weeks away.
