1) Pro football draft, 8-11:30 p.m. ET, ABC, ESPN and NFL Network. Once barely noticed by TV, this has become an adventure that gobbles up 11 hours over three days, on three networks. And that’s not counting the previews; ESPN starts at 7 p.m., the NFL Network starts (really) at 1. Those two networks will focus more on stats and such; ABC leans to the people side, starting with Caleb Williams (shown here), whom the Bears are expected to grab with the first pick.
2) “Ghosts,” 8:30 p.m., CBS. A week from its season-finale, this suddenly has more people to play with: (The ditzy-but-lovable Flower was foundd last week; presumed dead, she was merely stuck in a well.) Tonight, Pete discovers he has a power.
3) “Young Sheldon,” 8 p.m., CBS. This show, by comparison, still has six episodes left; it will double up on May 9 and 16, after “Ghosts” wraps. For now, recent stories – Georgie’s new job, his grandma’s arrest – are overshadowed by big news: Sheldon’s published paper brings a flood of college recruiting offers.
4) “Next Level Chef,” 8 p.m., Fox. In the final five are people far from the usual chef circles. Izahya Thomas, 24, was a 255-pound defensive lineman in college, until he was injured; now he’s Zay Dolla, an online chef. Christina Miros, 35, is a nurse and has a special-needs daughter. With three others, they cook with kombucha, a fermented tea that’s traditional in China and trendy in the U.S.
5) ALSO: You can make your own double-feature, choosing among three superb movies. “Gone Girl” (2014), a compelling thriller, is 4:30 p.m. on E, ending in time to catch the quick and hilarious “Airplane” (1980), at 8 p.m. on MGM+. Or wait until 8:50 for the smart and subtle “Lost in Translation” (2003) on 8:50. At 9:30, MGM has “Airplane II,” which merely copies the original.
