1) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. At 26, Sydney Sweeney (shown here) already seems to be everywhere. Lately, she’s done movies, successful (“Anyone But You”) and not (“Madame Web”). Earlier, she had simultaneous Emmy nominations for “Euphoria” and “White Lotus.” Now she gets her first turn as “SNL” host; country singer Kacey Musgraves is the music guest.
2) “FBI International” and “FBI Most Wanted,” 8 and 9 p.m., CBS. Here are two reruns from last season. First, a bomb threat forces a New York-bound plane to land in Morocco. Then a prison riot endangers someone who’s needed as a key witness..
3) Movies (light). Cable seems to forever be in a 1980s mood. Now Freeform has the original, vibrant “Footloose” (1984) at 8:50 p.m. IFC has a fun marathon — “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” (1982) at 5:15 p.m., “Sixteen Candles” (1984) at 7:15, “Caddyshack” (1980) at 9:15 and “Stripes” (1981) at 11:30.
4) Movies (serious). Two films, large and small, offer smart scripts and beautifully nuanced performances. In Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” (2012), 8 p.m. ET on Turner Classic Movies, Daniel Day-Lewis won an Oscar as the president, pushing to amend the constitution and end slavery. In “Guiiding Emily” (2023), 8 p.m., Hallmark, Sarah Drew is subtly superb as a young woman adjusting to blindness.
5) Basketball. ABC has the pros, with the Nuggets and Lakers at 8:30 p.m. ET. The others have a swarm of college games. At 7:45 p.m. ET on CW, Notre Dame hosts Clemson; at 8, second-ranked Purdue hosts Michigan State on Fox and Alabama (No. 14) hosts Tennessee (No. 4) on ESPN.
