1) “Sense & Sensibiility” (shown here), 8 p.m., Hallmark. Wrapping up its four-Saturday stretch of movies linked to Jane Austen, Hallmark remakes a classic, this time with a Black cast. Two British actresses star – Bethany Antonia (Lady Baela in “House of the Dragon”) as Marianne and Deborah Ayorinde as Elinor.
2) “Saturday Night Liive,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. After two weeks of reruns, “SNL” is back to a new episode – and a surprising host. Four-plus years ago, Shane Gillis, Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman were hired as regulars. Complaints surfaced that Gillis has used Asian slurs or stereotypes in podcasts; he was promptly fired Now he hosts, with 21 Savage as music guest.
3) “Priscilla” (2023), 8 p.m., HBO,. Here is a rare misfire for a gifted talent. Sofia Coppola succeeded as writer-director of “The Virgin Suicides,” “Marie Antoinette” and, especially, “Lost in Translation.” But this fiilm turns Elvis and Priscilla Presley into blank slates, devoid of depth or detail. Their love story merely draws shrugs.
4) More movies, 8 p.m. If you prefer a fun blend of action, humor and fantasy, catch “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” on MGM+. Or watch one of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” fiilms: The first (2014) is on FX, the second (2017) is on TBS; the third (2023) is on Disney+, along wiith the other two,.
5) ALSO: Facing primetime basketball on three networks (ABC, Fox, CW), NBC has reruns of two game shows – “The Wall” at 8 p.m. and “Weakest Link” at 9. Also at 8, CBS has a “So Help Me Todd” rerun from last season: To help his investigation, Todd takes an experimental drug. Also, his more-accomplished sister (a doctor) needs help.
