1) “Genius: MLK/X” conclusion, 9 and 10:08 p.m., National Geographic Channel. A well-crafted miniseries peaks in tonight’s first hour (shown here), with the passage of the Civil Rights Act … and the only time that Martin Luther King and Malcolm X met. The second hour sees them in transition– Malcolm to a global view, King to fresh issues, including Vietnam, before each was killed (three years apart) at 39.
2) “Young Sheldon,” 8 p.m., CBS. This comedy is at its best in its final season, with plot twists swirling. In Germany, Sheldon is startled by something new – a class where the other students are ahead of him. And back home, his grandma sees a post-tornado
opportunity: This might be the time to expand her illegal casino.
3) “Ghosts,” 8:30 p.m., CBS. Last week, we learned it was Flower – the one with a sweet soul and an empty brain – who zoomed off to the next world. For Thor, she was the first real love in centuries; now he tries to adjust. It’s a fairly good episode that also sees one of the ghosts entering dreams, to influence people.
4) More comedies. In a slight shift, CW now has its “The Conners” reruns at 8 and 8:30 p.m., before the new (to the U.S.) episodes of “Son of a Critch” and “Children Ruin Everything,” at 9 and 9:30. Tonight’s second “Conners” is the Christmas one from 2019, with everyone overlooking Dan’s birthday.
5) “American Idol,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. There are still three Thursdays (counting tonight) prior to the teturn of “Grey’s Anatomy” and other dramas. To fill the gap, ABC reruns two season-opener:. Sunday’s “Idol” launched auditions; at 10 p.m. is Tuesday’s “Will Trent,” which added Susan Kelachi Watson (“This Is Us”) as a bomb expert.
