2) “The Irrational” season-finale, 10 p.m. today, NBC. Duriing the strikes, this was one of the few series that rescued us from reruns and reality shows. Now Alec and his ex-wife may be close to finding the church bomber who scarred him. His aides and his sister also get involved.

3) “Bob (Hearts) Abshola,” 8:30 p.m., CBS. In its final season, this excellent show is pausing to add depth to its side characters. Last week, Abishola fumed about her son, who didn’t apply to Harvard; tonight, she worries about her good-hearted uncle. After a car accdent, she urges him to get glasses, but his problem may be bigger.

4) “Independent Lens” 10 p.m., PBS. At any time, this would have been a big plunge – a national news organization, created in Austen, Texas. Complicating things: It launched as the pandemic took hold. “Breaking the News” is an involving portrait of The 19th (named for the amendment that gave women the vote), which tackles the news from a female perspective.

5) “Madame Blanc Mysteries” season-opener, www.acorn.tv. The third season starts for this tale of a British antiques buff in a pleasant (but murder-strewn) French village. This time, a diver’s death makes her wonder what his real mission was. It’s a moderately interesting story; there’s a second one tonight and then one a week for four weeks.

(Full disclosure for No. 4: My daughter works for The 19th. However, she does tech work remotely and was not employed there when “Breaking the News” was filmed.)
