1) “An American in Austen,” 8-10 p.m.,, Hallmark. Lots of people might imagine being in the world Jane Austen created for her best character, Elizabeth Bennett. In this film, that happens: A modern Austen buff (played by a Canadian actress, shown here, who happens to be named Eliza Bennett) is transported to that era. Also, “Paging Mt. Darcy” (2024), set at an Austen conference, reruns at noon.
2) Basketball. This is all-star weekend for the pros. The game itself is Sunday night, but today (8 p.m. ET on TNT, with preview at 5:30) has catch competitions for slam-dunk, 3-poiint shooting and more. There are also college games, including Clemson-North Carolina (7:45 p.m., CW) and Michigan-Michigan State (8, Fox).
3) “The Equalizer,” 8 p.m., CBS. On the eve of the season-opener, here’s a reminder of where the show left off. In a rerun of the season-finale, Robyn’s former CIA colleague is found alive and seeking revenge. Her goal is to kidnap Dante, Harry and Mel; Delilah and her aunt must take quick action. That’s followed by “NCIS: Hawaii,” with a Marine dying in a tide pool after being exposed to fentanyl.
4) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. There’s one more round of reruns, this time with Jacob Elordi as host and Renee Rapp as music guest. Next week, “SNL” is back to a new episode, with Shane Gillis and 21 Savage.
5) ALSO: Two days before its finale, “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League” has a rerun, from 8-10 p.m. on NBC. And alongside the basketball overload, ABC has pro hockey, that’s 8 p.m., with the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils.
