1) “Young Sheldon” season-finale rerun, 8 p.m., CBS. Unlike some comedies, this is at its best when it has a busy story; now that peaks. In last week’s rerun, Sheldon and his mom planned to go to Germany for his summer classes also, his brother finally had his marriage proposal accepted. Now comes the trip and a tornado (shown here), setting up next week’s great start for the final season.
2) “Ghosts,” 8:30, CBS. Here’s another season-finale rerun, leading to a big change. The story has someone claim she – not Sam – should have inherited the mansion. That much is so-so, but the final minute sets up next week’s season-opener.
3) “Truth & Lies,” 9-11 p.m., ABC. This show’s other two editions have clear villains – the Gilgo Beach killer last week, the “Doomsday Prophet” next week. But this one is more about good intentions that were rushed too quickly. Stockton Rush believed his Titan mini-sub could created undersea missions He and four others died in June, while trying to tour the Titanic wreckage.
4) “Genius: MLK/X,” 9 and 10:10 p.m., National Geographic Channel. It’s the second week of this excellent, four-week, eight-part mini-series. As the Montgomery bus boycott builds, Martin Luther King is propelled to national fame – and to danger. Meanwhile, Malcolm X draws fame and conflict as his Harlem ministry grows. He also meets (and sometimes underestimates) Betty.
5) MORE: The “NFL Honors” will be 9-11 p.m. on CBS, with Keegan-Michael Key again hosting; awards range from most valuable player to the Hall of Fame. And “Halo” opens its second season on Paramount+. After a decade of false starts, this mega-budget sci-fi show had nine episode two years ago. Now it has eight more, as the Master Chief tries to prove humankind is in grave danger.
