2) “Next Level Chef,” about 10 p.m. ET, Fox. When the game ends, Fox leaps into this season-opener, with chefs following a sort of career path – from a dingy kitchen in the basement to a shiny one on top. This opener has social influencers, an interesting bunch. They include a father of five. a dancer who was Miss Washington and a rapper who accidentally burned off his fingerprints.

3) “All Creatures Great and Small,” 9 p.m., PBS. Focusing on the new veterinarian, this deftly covers extremes. There’s fun, as he’s weaned from books and given a pokey patient. There are also tense moments, after he blurts out possibility. Afterward, “Funny Woman” finds Sophie in a sudden burst of stardom and romance gossip.

4) “The Woman in the Wall,” 9 p.m., Showtime. At the core is the true story of abuse by an Irish home for unwed mothers. Ruth Wilson is compelling as Lorna, who bears those memories darkly. She sleepwalks and rages; now a priest has been killed and Lorna seems to have found a woman’s body, which she hid in the walls. Topical drama seems top skid close to supernatural horror.

5) MORE: The 9 p.m. hour continues to have an overload of strong drama – “Monseiur Spade” on AMC, “True Detective” on HBO and “The Way Home” on Hallmark, plus the PBS and Showtime hours. For something ligher, there are movie nights. It’s Robin Williams’ “Jumanji” (1995) at 7 p.m. on CW and Lindsay Lohan’s “The Parent Trap” (1998) at 8 on ABC,
