1) “The Simpsons Movie” (2007), 6 p.m. and midnight, FX. On TV in 2007, Bart Simpson scrawled: “I will not wait 20 years to make another movie.” But maybe he will. This first one (shown here) came 17 years after the series began. Critics approved and it topped a half-billion dollars worldwide. Still, we’ve waited 16-plus years – so far – for the next one.
2) More movies. FX also has “The Bob’s Burgers Movie” (2022) at 8 and 10 p.m. and Freeform counters with more animated hits – “The Lion King” (1994) at 5:15 p.m., “Finding Nemo” (2003) at 7:20 and “Finding Dory” (2016) at 9:50. Prefer non-cartoons? Syfy has Christian Bale’s Batman films, at 5 and 8 p.m.; Showtime has the first two great “Godfather” ones, at 7 and 10.
3) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. Next week, “SNL” ends its four-week break and returns to live episodes. For now, it reruns one with Emma Stone hosting. The music guest is Noah Kohan, 27, who spends much of his time in backwoods Vermont.
4) “I Am Paul Walker” (2018), 8-10 p.m., CW. Walker was an action-movie star who made the “Fast and Furious” movies. He also lived a fast life. He raced cars, had a car collection, spent 11 days on a shark-tagging expedition. He died at 40, as a passenger in a fast-moving car that crashed. Here’s a profile, part of the CW’s series of “I Am” films.
5) ALSO: The pro-football playoffs start today, with the Browns-Texans (4:30 p.m. ET, NBC) and Dolphins-Chiefs (8 p.m., Peacock). There are three more games Sunday, plus one Monday.
