1) “SWAT.” return, 8 p.m., CBS. After months of alternatives, CBS has re-assembled the line-up that gets strong ratings on Fridays. They’ll have reruns for now, with their new seasons starting Feb. 16. In “SWAT” (shown here in a previous episode), it’s Patrol Day, when the elite team must work the streets. Trouble soon follows.
2) “Fire Country” and “Blue Bloods,” 9 and 10 p.m., CBS. Here’s the rest of the Friday triad. First, the crew – prisoners, working as firefighters – rushes to the crash of a train that had an illicit cargo. Then Frank, the police commissioner, announces he won’t endorse his daughter for district attorney. Also,.one son investigates a bloody crime scene, the other has a job that requires secrets.
3) “Transplant,” 8 p.m., NBC. It’s painful for a doctor to tell someone his loved one is gone; now imagine having to re-tell a trauma victim, time after time. That’s one of several problems; another involves a teen with birth-control trouble. It’s a fairly good hour, originally set for Thursday and then moved to the show’s new night.
4) “Role Play,” Amazon Prime. It’s sometimes a good idea, we’re told, to keep a secret from one’s spouse. So Emma, a suburban mom, hasn’t told Dave that she’s a hired killer. This stars two people who have thrived lately in streaming – Kaley Cuoco (“The Flight Attendant,” “Based on a True Story”) and David Oyelowo (“Bass Reeves”).
5) More streaming. Two more movies arrive today. In “Lift” (Netflix), Kevin Hart leads a sky-high heist; in “Self Reliance” (Hulu), Jake Johnson joins a reality show that involves eluding assassins. Earlier this week brought Marvel action (“Echo” on Disney+ and Hulu), British cops (“Criminal Record,” Apple TV+) and a light documentary (“A History of the World in Six Glasses,” Fox Nation).
