1) “Ghosts,” 8 and 8:30 p.m., CBS. This likable show finally returns – but only for one night and two reruns. These are the Halloween ones, both excellent, from the first two seasons: Neighborhood kids plan to vandalize the place; the ghosts try to help. Then a séance accidentally brings someone from Hetty’s past (shown here). After that, be patient: Tentative plans have reruns returning Nov. 16, alongside the original, British version of the show.
2) More Halloween, cable. AMC starts a two-day marathon of “Halloween” films, including the 1978 original at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Turner Classic Movies has older films, including Spencer Tracy as “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” (1941) at 11:45 a.m. ET. And others just want to have fun: The Disney Channel has “Monsters University” (2013) at 7 p.m.; Freeform has “Addams Family” films at 3 and 5 p.m., then “Hotel Transylvania” ones at 7 and 9.
3) World Series, 8:03 p.m. ET, Fox, with pre-game at 7. In only their fourth season, the Arizona Diamondbacks became the World Series champions. They won the final game at home, before an approving crowd of 49,589. Now – 22 years later – they’re finally in their second Series. The first two games were in Texas; now the Rangers – seeking their first Series title — come to that same Arizona stadium for the next three.
4) “The Irrational,” 10 p.m., NBC. As an expert witness in a trial, Alec faces an old nemesis. That follows “The Voice” (8-10 p.m.), where the “battle rounds” continue.
5) “Harry Wild,” www.acorn.tv. In a fairly clever change-of-pace, Harry (Jane Seymour), the professor-turned-detective, goes to a murder-mystery weekend. It soon copies the Agatha Christie formula – a closed mystery on a remote island. The solution is so-so, but everything surrounding it is fun.
