1) “Archer” series finale, 10 p.m., FXX, rerunning at 10:32 and 11:04. At its best, this show (a cartoon for grown-ups) has been big, brash and high-octane. Now the finale tries to top that, with killer drones, killer bikers, two beheadings and a behanding … plus Lana (shown here) trying to make her shaky operation work. We prefer shows where the body parts remain intact, but this is done with enough humor and zest to keep us watching.
2) “America Outdoors” season-finale and “Nova,” 8 and 9 p.m., PBS. In the amiable finale, Baratunde Thurston visits Maine and tries a mid-winter swim. It looks cold … but the Earth has seen worse: In the second part of a spectacular, five-week series, “Nova” views a 50-million-year phase when the planet was encased in snow and ice. The break-up (around 635 million years ago) stirred glaciers, continental shifts and the forces that propelled life.
3) “Sullivan’s Crossing,” 8 p.m., CW. Last week’s opener had a surgeon arrested at a dinner and hauled away (for her boss’s misdeeds) in evening gown and handcuffs. That wildly unlikely moment set up a show that’s now lower key and likable. She returned to her dad’s Nova Scotia resort, which she had left as a teen, when her mom married a rich guy. It’s a fairly good hour, followed by “Spencer Sisters,” a detective show that started well last week.
4) “Quantum Leap,” 8 p.m., NBC, The first season began with Ben transported into the body of a guy who was working on a bank heist. Tonight – in the second episode of the second season – he’s on the other side, as a bank clerk during a robbery. That’s followed by “Magnum P.I.,” with efforts to help someone who lost her life savings to a scammer. Also, TC’s recovery from a gunshot has been slow, leaving him frustrated and bitter.
5) “The Masked Singer,” 8 p.m., Fox. When Tom Sandoval was unmasked last week, viewers were probably surprised because … well, they’d never heard of him. (He’d acted in minor movies and some music videos and has a band, but found fame as a bartender on the “Vanderpump Rules” reality show.) In fame goes, he’s no match for Anthony Anderson (unmasked the previous week) or Jewel, who performs unmasked at the start of tonight’s show.
