1) “Irrational,” 10 p.m., NBC. As one of this fall’s few new, scripted shows, this had big expectations. . The first episode was terrific; the second had a wildly unlikely finish. Now this third one bounces back neatly: A skilled pilot crashes, raising suspicion. (In truth, this episode says, there hasn’t been a fatal crash of a major airline in 14 years.) Our hero, a psychology professor, visits the crash site (shown here) and discusses some fascinating human quirks.
2) “The Price is Right at Night,” 8 p.m., CBS. For the second straight week, CBS has this as a lead-in to the new “Loteria Loca” game show, going against the might of “The Voice” (8-10 p.m., NBC). This time, the studio is stuffed with “Amazing Race” fans, plus the show’s host, Phil Keoghan. Contestants can win adventure prizes and one will play “The Amazing Rat Race.”
3) “Son of a Critch” and “Run the Burbs,” 8 and 9:30 p.m., CW. These season-finales center on the end of the school year – the final dance for “Critch,” the graduation for “Burbs.” Both shows, however, have already done two seasons in Canada; the entire four-comedy line-up exits Mondays after tonight, but moves to Thursdays on Oct. 26, including second-season openers. Also today: another “Burbs” at 8:30 and “Children Ruin Everything” at 9.
4) “The Matthew Shepard Story; An American Hate Crime,” 9-11 p.m., Investigation Discovery. Thursday will mark the 25th anniversary of the death of Matthew Shepard. In the aftermath, two men were convicted of murder and new laws were passed, protecting gays. This documentary interviews Shepard’s friends and adds comments from others, including Rosie O’Donnell and Adam Lambert.
5) “Mrs. Sidhu Investigates” season-finale and “Harry Wild” season-opener, www.acorn.tv. One mystery wraps its season (four movie-length episodes) as another arrives with six one-hour tales. “Mrs. Sidhu” has some plot problems tonight, including the world’s worst hostage-watchers, but partly redeems itself with its charm. Harry (Jane Seymour) probes the death of a respected cop and worries about her teen colleague’s family problem.
