CBS will tap another international spin-off this fall, to fill a void in its line-up.
This one is “NCIS: Sydney.” On Nov. 13, it will take the 10 p.m. slot on Mondays, with “NCIS” reruns sliding down to 9.
With many shows sidelined by the writers’ and actors’ strikes, some networks have looked overseas. NBC will have one Canadian show (“Transplant”); CW will have several, plus one from England and a multi-national one from Germany.
CBS has a different approach: Beginning Nov. 16, each Thursday will have a rerun of “Ghosts,” followed by two episodes of the British show it’s based on. Now comes this variation.
When the strikes end, “NCIS” will have its 21st season and “NCIS: Hawaii” will have its third. NCIS: Los Angeles” recently ended its 14-year run and “NCIS: New Orleans” had a seven-year run. “NCIS: Sydney,” made for Australian TV, is the first international version, with an eight-episode first season.
