1) Tony Awards, 8-11 p.m. ET, CBS. Each year, this ripples with great Broadway musical moments There should be more than ever this time, in a show that’s unscripted, due to the writers’ strike. Expect music from host Ariana DeBose (shown hosting last year’s Tonycast), from the nominated musicals — revivals (“Sweeney Todd,” “Into the Woods,” “Camelot,” “Parade”) and new (“Some Like It Hot,” “New York, New York,” “Kimberly Akimbo,” “& Juliet,” “Shucked”) — and more, including “Funny Girl” and a Joel Grey tribute.
2) “The Lazarus Project,” 9 p.m., TNT, rerunning at 10:05. In last week’s intriguing opener, George learned he’s one of the few people who can tell when time is halted and re-wound. Now he’s part of the group that does it, with a catch: This should only be used to prevent mass extinction. We see times – past and present – when someone wants to undo an individual tragedy. The results are jolting.
3) “Fear the Walking Dead,” 9 p.m., AMC, rerunning at 10:15 and 11:24 p.m. With time running out, the heroes fight PADRE, which has been stealing and re-educating children. Next week, “Fear” moves back a notch, giving the 9 p.m. slot to the new “The Walking Dead: Dead City.”
4) “Outlander,” 12:05 to 9:15 p.m., Starz. On Friday, this time-travel epic starts its seventh season. First, the sixth season reruns in one gulp. The season-finale, at 8:11 p.m., finds Claire (a 20th-century doctor, transported back 200 years) is being arrest for murder; around her, forces are rising for the American revolution.
5) ALSO: It’s a rerun night on NBC (“American Ninja Warrior” at 7 p.m., “America’s Got Talent” at 9) and ABC (“America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7, “Shark Tank” 8-11. If you still prefer football, the USFL has games at 2 p.m. ET on NBC and 7 p.m. ET on Fox. And HBO has the epic “Avatar: The Way of Water” (2021) at 5:40 p.m.; that leads into “The Idol” at 9, rerunning at 10 and 10:55 p.m.
