CBS’ line-up next season will look a lot like the one this season.
A lot.
The network announced Tuesday that nine more shows (including “CSI: Vegas,” shown here) have received early renewals for next season. That makes 19 so far; it gets easier to see which ones haven’t yet been renewed.
Only two scripted shows – one new (“East New York”) and one old (“SWAT”) – remain in limbo. That’s three if you count “True Lies,” which will debut March 1. Two others – “Blue Bloods” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” – had already announced that this is their final season.
That will leave some drama sports open for next fall. The network has already given the go-ahead to “The Never Game”; based on a Jeffery Deaver novel, it has Justin Hartley as a survivalist who uses his skills to be a “reward seeker,” helping individuals or the police.
There are also some reality shows pending, but they’re ones leaning toward summer spots – “Big Brother,” “Undercover Boss,” “Come Dance With Me” and “Secret Celebrity Renovation.”
The CBS line-up last fall had one new reality show, “The Real Love Boat.” It was yanked early, but other shows have been consistent. The primetime ones renewed for next season are:
— All four comedies “Young Sheldon,” “Ghosts,” “The Neighborhood” and “Bob (Hearts) Abishola.” (Among comedies, they are No. 1, 2, 4 and 5 respectively in the Nielsen ratings; NBC’s “Night Court” is No. 3.) Also, the drama-comedy “So Help Me Todd.”
— All three “FBI” shows, plus the two remaining “NCIS” ones and “CSI: Vegas.”
— Two more dramas, “The Equalizer” and “Fire Country.”
— Both news shows, “60 Minutes” and “48 Hours.”
— Three reality shows, “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race” and “Tough as Nails.”
— And a game show, “Lingo.”
